There are many nice things to be said about going home. One of those nice things is having a built-in babysitter (a.k.a. grandparents) so that we can sneak away for a night out on the town. Of course, it took a lot of convincing from The Fella for me to leave Baby Max overnight. But it had to be done, Miami awaits us!
We checked into The President Hotel after putting Max to bed, enjoyed Brazilian tapas and the infamous people-watching on Espanola Way, followed up by a walk along Ocean Drive passing by old-time favorites like Mango's and The Clevelander.
We tried to find that guy from long ago who built large-scale sandcastles that seemed to keep growing month after month, but he was no longer there. In the window of one of those cheezy South Beach gift shops, I saw a baby tee shirt The Fella wouldn't let me buy for Max; in loud, hot pink letters, it read: "I AM SEXY AND I KNOW IT" from that catchy LMFAO pop song. There was no partying hard this time around. All we really wanted to do? Go back to the hotel and watch tv as loud as we wanted. Thanks, Grandma!
