Basil Fest 2.0, the brainchild of my old high school friend, happened over the holiday weekend. It was at this same party last year that Baby Max was still in my belly, enjoying the wonderful world of end-of-summer basil, and where we met a new friend, Alex Agudo. He is the talented jewelry designer behind the label Monsieur Pamplemousse, and it was one of Alex's spectacular pieces that The Fella gave to me as a "push present" (translation: a present for pushing out a human being).
This year, Baby Max literally walked into the party (with Dadda's help), and tasted various forms of basil dishes brought by guests and kept trying to grab my glass of Basil Mead Honey Wine. That lil rascal. He might have also had his first lick of Fig-Basil Ice Cream. Homemade, of course.

It looks delicious, I like to have some.
