Happy Halloween & Nigiri Sushi

_DSC0160

Any guesses on what little Maxwell is for Halloween this year? I'll give you a hint, it rhymes with "tushy."

Yeap. That's right, I rolled him up into a little nigiri sushi, a la carte and homemade, of course! I don't know why he's flicking me off though. And yep, those are indeed life-sized chopsticks (skinny wooden dowels bought from Joann's Fabric) to pick it him up! I was obsessed with this costume idea last Halloween when Max was just born, but yea, I was a little busy for any DIY projects. Too bad, because it would've been a lot funnier back then, you know, before he could move and all. Seriously, who likes it when their sushi walks right off the plate, sheesh! I used white fabric paint to draw stripes on a scrap of red fabric, then covered a mini pillow using fashion tape (the lazy man's way of avoiding sewing). It usually holds things together fine, but not so much for a mobile baby––he eventually became just a ball of white rice! Check out these pics from our last weekend in Chicago, which happened to involve a little pre-Halloween costume party!
