A gift from Matt Lamb, the artist

It's so nice to get a token of appreciation from clients recognizing your hard work. It could come in the form of a sincere compliment, a nice email... food of any kind is always good, too. I especially appreciate times like these – more so than ever – because I've certainly been screamed* at in the past by clients one client, more times than I care to quantify!  

But today, each person in the office received a lovely, generous gift from our new client, Matt Lamb, the artist. Simply as a thank you for our ongoing efforts to create and bring together a unified Matt Lamb brand. Go figure. In the process our branding work for him, this brilliant man pays it forward, putting his name and art out there with the simple act of gift-giving, thus creating even more brand awareness!

Matt Lamb already has huge international presence in Europe, with several Dali-Lamb Museums worldwide, and just celebrated a grand opening for one in my very own backyard, the River East neighborhood of Chicago! Exciting stuff. His work is considered expressionistic contemporary, and inspired by Salvador Dali, with wild splashes of color in a seemingly incoherent madness. (He's also pals with Dali's illegitimate son, whom I bumped into once at the office. Note the keyword illegitimate – everything in the art world is that dramatic, in fact.)

This awesome gift sure makes staying late at work all week much more okay. I would have settled for cookies, even.
