Las Palmas

LasPalmas-1

It's one of those neighborhood gems. I suppose that's just reason no. 132 why I love this city so much––there are a trillion little (and big) gems like this one tucked away in random corners or streets. Las Palmas is close enough to a Topolobampo but without the prices. If you can believe it, it's fine Mexican food in an easy, sunlit atmosphere and it's right in my neighborhood, just a skip-hop away.

We had probably what was one of our favorite meals in a long time––let's just say that my search for the perfect salsa ends here, and between pan seared scallops with crispy arepa, a pineapple and tequila soaked skirt steak, and braised lamb in guajillo peppers, our stomachs couldn't have been any happier. And, for once, a non-fussy Baby during a meal out and a stroll home begged for a pit stop at a dessert cafe. Perfection!

"I'll take one of those!"
