Spring
came back just in time for Easter weekend with lots of bright sunshine
and blue skies! Dressed appropriately in pastels, we toted Baby Max to a
local toy store that hosted an Egg-stravaganza event with balloons,
giveaways, and a random appearance by a Ms. Fisher the Cat. Who?? (I
guess all the Easter bunnies were hired out for bigger shindigs!). The
pretty day begged for a little stroll down busy Division Street and
through Ukrainian Village neighborhood, lined with old,
gingerbread-style homes and magnolia trees. We capped off Saturday with a
vanilla shake at our favorite neighborhood joint, Oberweis!
Our
friends in Bridgeport hosted an Easter BBQ on their awesome deck
Sunday. They're serious grillmasters and and even more serious foodies, a
dangerous combination––think Greek-style marinated lamb chops, Mexican
Roadside Chicken, spring asparagus, and green onions. And don't forget
the homemade desserts from other guests––cheesecake with strawberries,
chocolate pie with fresh cream, and my chocolate chip cookies!

Hope you had a lovely Easter or Passover weekend!

Melissa
and I have been friends since high school in South Florida. In
fact, it was after one of her parties on Memorial Day last year, that I
had a taste of an extra-spicy cayenne pepper, when I felt Max kick for
the first time in my belly! And, she (along with her parents who were visiting) was one of the last friends I saw just three days before Max was
born!

Hope you had a lovely Easter or Passover weekend!
