Playdate in the South Loop

Baby Max, meet Baby Nico. Nico is Max's first pal his own age in Chicago, born just about 2 weeks apart at the same hospital. His mom and I met at a prenatal yoga class when we were both around 30 weeks. Unfortunately we were too busy being tired and pregnant to really have the chance to hang out––like the time we were supposed to have dinner with the husbs one night but then she ended up going into labor instead! We're attempting to make up for lost time now. Our track record for getting together is not great, but the boys have sat on a couch or two together when they were 2 weeks, 4 months, and now 6 months. The thing about baby playdates is that, well, usually one (or both) is asleep. I guess playdates are really for the mommies, and that's pretty nice, too.

I can't tell if they like each other. Look at their expressions in the pics above. Intense. You know what else I love? Nico's nursery. It's beyond amazing, especially the pops of red and that whimsical canopy, and it doesn't hurt to have views of Lake Michigan and Michigan Ave from the 62nd floor!

  1. It's a cute picture that 2 babies look at each other.

  2. I'm trying to take him out and about more, particularly to play with other babies his age! We also had another playdate with a baby girl yesterday, but I didn't take pics to share.
