I usually like to have set plans, but sometimes spontaneity can work out, too. Like when a lovely girl friend calls you up to hang out the next day (k, there was some advance planning––we both have babies, people!). Other than that, no specific plans were made. In fact, our conversation went a bit like this:
Jaz: Hi! Want to get together this weekend for a farmers market or something?
Me: Sure! How about Saturday? Meet me at the intersection of North/Damen/Milwaukee after 3. I don't know what we'll do, but we'll figure it out!
Jaz: Sorry, running late––trying to catch a zombie flash mob downtown!
Me: What the what?! Explain later!
Only in Chicago!!!
We wound up strolling around Milwaukee Avenue until Bin Wine Bar called to us. We feasted on a bunch of small plates, and capped off a sweltering afternoon with some iCream from next door. Then we raced back to my place to put a screaming Baby Max to bed before chilling at the park across the street––just us, my dog, and minus one baby now . . . a fantastic Saturday!
