We stopped by the neighborhood block party over the weekend just before Max's bedtime. It was a perfect, sunny day after a night of tornado warnings. We ate homemade food like Smoked Gouda Mac 'N Cheese and Bread Pudding with Bourbon Glaze that was entered in the potluck competition and caught up with our friendly neighbors. I wish Max was old enough to bounce around in the bounce house––it looked so fun, I wanted in!
He seemed highly skeptical of the giant llama pinata, but did seem to enjoy all the dogs and kids in the street, as well as the weirdly inappropriate-for-this-occasion trance music that the DJ was spinning. (It figures our little Club Kid slash South Beach baby (videos) would dig the trance but cry at the hippie art fair music that we happened on during an earlier stroll through Wicker Park to run errands!)
Sunday capped off the weekend with a trip to the 'burbs! We grilled out with our friends and played in their giant backyard! It was the first week in several where the weather was actually autumn-like, so I broke out an outfit that did not consist entirely of the bare minimum a.k.a. shorts, tanks and flip flops! I love the top of Baby Max's sweet, little head. Next to his belly, I think this is my favorite spot to kiss!
You guys had so much fun, enjoy every minute while this baby growing up
