Max had a couple new food experiences this weekend. Now that we're on this baby-lead weaning approach, he pretty much gets whatever we're having. And we had Moroccan and Chinese this past weekend... so... it was interesting. And challenging.
Our local Moroccan place is where The Fella and I had dinner the night we found out the gender, over a year ago! We had had my ultrasound earlier that day, then tucked the results into an envelope to take to a celebratory dinner.
It was here in this charming-to-us hole in the wall, packed with all kinds of imported odds and ends, that we shrieked out loud "It's a boy!!!" before we started crying. (Never mind, we were the only patrons, like I said, hole in the wall.) So every now and then we like to go back and reminisce over the most delicious warmed pita and lamb couscous, this time being the first with our precious baby boy.
Max's verdicts?
Moroccan––Didn't care so much for Moroccan lamb, but didn't totally mind the chickpeas and pita schmeared with spicy eggplant.
Chinese––He did try a few pieces of satay beef, but mostly, he just had more fun "talking" to Nico and throwing around his sippy cup than actual eating.

And besides the downpour that happened on
us on Sunday just as we arrived in Chinatown (and parked the car blocks away!), we had a lovely
time eating noodles, soup, and dumplings. The babes got to catch up,
mommas got to catch up, it shaped up to be a swell Sunday afternoon.

I guess Max will never go back to those tasteless baby food!!! Smart kid!
