Halloween, part 1

The Halloween weekend began on Saturday as we drove All. The. Way. Out to Downers Grove for a friend's party only to find out that the party is actually on Sunday. (FYI, this is the last time I leave our social calendar up to The Fella!) It's about an hour commute, two excruciating hours round-trip, but it was worth it because my fiery red devil wig slowed traffic and was honked at a few times, and I got to drive behind another car with the license plate "GOD 12"; I wonder how they felt with The Devil driving behind them.

Alas, as we were all dressed up (Shawn as a Greaser, although wearing a wig called "Illinois Politician", pffffff, and I as The Devil) and pondering where to go, we ended up back in the city and popping in to another friend's party on the South Side, her Hyde Park apartment full of special artist's touches and Halloween accents, and the best costume of the night, oh yes, Lady Gaga in a Meat Dress!

And ta-daaaa! Lady Gaga in a Meat Dress!

This Halloween I came to the realization that it's really awesome wearing a colorful wig and that I kinda sorta like bangs. I think I'll do this again next year, perhaps something sparkly and purpley-pink like Barb's?

P.S. Apologies for some of the photos. My new Nikon D3100 just arrived on Friday and I haven't yet read the manual on how to properly use the settings, although I quite like how the Lady Gaga pix came out looking like genuine paparazzi shots!
