I hate USPS

Sorry for the radio silence this week! While I get back on track, here's a little sound bite from the depths of Capes, Chairs, and Cows:

Five days post-blizzard, and we've just now received mail for the first time. Yep, FIVE. Thank you for nothing, fabulous Chicago USPS. I was really looking forward to the traditional, tiny red envelope* that my parents said they sent a week ago for the start of Chinese New Year. Received finally! I suppose I should just be grateful that some postal worker isn't off enjoying my lucky money, magazine subscriptions, and junk mail.

On the bright side, ain't the 1990s Hello Kitty stationery (and matching Hello Kitty red envelope!) just AWESOME?

*Lucky money, or lei-see, is traditionally given by elders to young people, or anyone who is not married. Well, I'm only sorta young and I'm definitely married, but my mom still likes to give this to me every year, haha. I'll always be their little girl, no matter how old I get!
