OOTD: Cropped, cropped, cropped

020411-1

This was my little conundrum this morning (as mentioned in my previous OOTD post): I already wore my work-appropriate "winter" jeans yesterday on Thursday, so I couldn't re-wear again today. I still regard Fridays as "Casual Friday" even though now we're allowed to wear them any day––which my fellow colleagues have immediately embraced, wearing denim ever since. I, on the other hand, have never been a huge jean gal. I think my anti-denim thing began when I was a little kid in the 80s––my mom could never find a pair that fit my short self; that didn't make me feel like I was walking around in stiff sandpaper; and that didn't bunch around at my waist. Because of this, I stayed away from them like the plague until I finally discovered low-rise Brazilian stretch jeans in college!

So, since I already wore my quota of denim this week––and without risk of looking like a college student who slept over at her boyfriend's house the night before––I opted instead for these casual, cropped cigarette pants. They're an army green color with a touch of slate gray sheen, and I knew they would perfectly complement my pink floral sweater (also cropped!). The problem? My tights underneath were showing at the waist. The solution? Layer a thin black top underneath the cropped sweater, and then skinny-belt it! It's kinda like "color-blocking", only with floral prints!
