#1 on my 30 for 30 project is really and truly coming to fruition. I had put that on my list at the last minute, on a whim really––not believing that I'd actually make it to London before my 30th birthday in July. There were a number of limiting factors, like not having time off work, budget considerations, coordinating another big trip with The Fella, and not having time off. Did I mention not having time off work?
Somehow, by some miracle (and lots of brain smarts), The Fella was selected out of a wide pool of qualified candidates to represent the United States at an elite European symposium for rheumatology research. On top of it, he was also asked to present his own scientific research in the field! My Fella is such a smarty-party! The symposium takes place at February's end in Amsterdam, and you know how close that is to London? Why, practically a hop, skip, and a jump away. And that's how I managed to go to London this year!
Now back to very important stuff: clothing! I hear London is edgy, street-chic, and that the girls all wear black tights, striped. Perrrfect! I have a pair that my sis brought me from Japan that I've never felt bold enough to wear in Chicago. A little too "unusual" for the Midwest, perhaps. Might they make their debut in London? Stay tuned and find out!
