I don't know what's going on with this crazy, ridiculous amazing winter weather here, but I'll take it. This weekend continued an upward trend of 50 degree temps. It's January. In Chicago. !!!!!!!! The blue skies and warm weather made me motivated to get out and about. I actually went to a free "mommy's yoga" class at Lululemon Athletica while The Fella stayed home with the baby. Now that we've begun giving Max one bottle a day, it's been so liberating for me to have even this one shift off. I feel like the shackles come off and I get a couple hours to myself to do what I want, to not feel like a cow for just a little bit (because I'm breastfeeding around the clock, get it?).
Now back to the class, let me just say, what a very different experience this was compared to the prenatal yoga classes I took! Practically all the moms here were young, sporting designer duds, could bend in all kinds of positions rather effortlessly, and above all, trim and toned! Well, it is the Gold Coast, after all. Instead of expectant mom freebies from sponsors, this time I left with a couple Kind health bars, a tangerine, and bottled water. I was so rejuvenated after having given an ohm for the day (or whatever it is they say) that I even walked the mile home from the El station.
Next weekend, haircut!
