Max had another playdate in East Lakeview this week! When Max was around four months old, I joined a mom's group in the city through Meetup.com when I finally felt more ready to commit to organized activities. Well, call it a semi-commitment, as it really depends on Max's nap schedule that day whether we end up making it or not!
Funny enough, it was a new friend that I met in a prenatal yoga class who referred me to this group, and now we're both members and our babies are besties. Remember Nico? That's Nico with Max in these pics. What's nice about a large mom's group like this one (it has several hundred members!) is that there is an ever-rotating group of babies and moms at each playdate meetup. (For those who don't know what Meetup.com is, it is a website that lets you join a group based on your interest.) It gives me the flexibility to expose Max to new surroundings, while not feeling tied down to a regular group with recurring playdates––therefore eliminating the burden of hosting! Oh, and access to lots of new toys we don't have at home. Lucky Max!
