Volo flashback!

Folks, get ready for extreme cuteness overload . . . !

Last week, my "Little Dude" and "Big Dude" revisited Volo Wine Bar, the scene of our baby shower eight months ago––or as I like to think––nearly as long as Baby Maxwell has been baking in the oven! These adorable shirts, courtesy of my aunt from the shower, were the perfect outfits to wear to this dinner occasion, don't you think?

Because it's in a neighborhood that I do not normally frequent, I would never have known about this amazing place, if not for my sisters who threw us the shower, which was complete with an open wine bar and delicious food made in their open kitchen! 

Almost a year later, Volo is just as fabulous. We loved every bite of their small plate morsels, from the "Black and Blue" (seared beef in a merlot wine reduction with blue cheese potato) to the "Sweet Pea Flatbread" (a seasonal menu item made with fresh pea shoots). And this time, the weather was perfect so we could enjoy the lush outdoor patio and reminisce about when Baby Max was just a wee twinkle in our eyes!

We met the owners, too. They surprised us with a complimentary serving of the Montchevre Garlic and Herb goat cheese (from Wisconsin) and a heaping portion of rustic baguette, in addition to the Lamb Chopper sheep's milk cheese (from California) that we did order!

Dessert wasn't bad, either––Cardamom Puff Sticks with Lemon and Cinnamon Sorbets. Yes, please!
