The Fella surprised me yesterday with a gorgeous vintage pin! It has brushed gold spirals that radiate like a sunburst. While returning library materials, he stumbled upon a pop-up vintage market at Heaven Gallery. The pin was made in the 1960s by a well-known designer according to the shop girl, but The Fella can't remember who it is and the marking is worn. I like that it has a nice weight, so it doesn't feel like cheap costume jewelry. It's perfect for adorning a 1970s vintage Burberry* skirt––and for wearing to dinner at Bruna's, the third-oldest Italian restaurant in Chicago since 1933!

*Just after I bought this somewhat pricey vintage skirt on my New York trip, I had a minor freakout that it was somehow a fake because, upon closer inspection, I saw that the label said Burberrys. I only knew it as simply Burberry (without the extra "s" at the end). Thankfully, WikiAnswers proved me wrong––in 1999, Burberrys changed their marketing name to Burberry. Whew, dodged one!
What a beautiful pin and how sweet of him! Love!
