Dreaming of warm Wailea...

–22 degrees outside. Need I say more?

No? But I will anyway–

It's effing beyond ridiculously cold. My whole face hurts. My eyes water, then sting the minute I step outside, the bitter, icy air no friend to anything left uncovered. Like your eyelashes, nose, cheeks. Should I get a ski mask next season? I wore FIVE layers on top today. That's right, kids. FIVE. A "special milk technology" body heat activating thermal layer, followed by a wool turtleneck, cashmere cardie, real fur vest – and finally – a full-length, synthetic down overcoat. For my bottoms, I am wearing a pair of tights under thick leggings, with Hunter Wellington fleece boot warmers and thick rubber boots. Oh, a scarf and a real fur hat. I pulled out all the stops today.

So instead of showing you my Michelin Man outfit of the day, I'll share pretty pix of sunny skies and sandy beaches for your my enjoyment. Oh, how I miss you, Maui!

* Blink by Malcolm Gladwell is a seriously awesome book that my friend gave me for Xmas. Even after only three chapters, I strongly believe everyone can benefit from reading this insightful book.
