It's a new week and a new year, so I'm putting on my best new professional outfit for the occasion, a chargoal gray tweed vest with tiny cap sleeves by Michael Kors. I got dressed this morning, hoping it would help put me in a "back to business" mindset to kick things off after a long holiday hiatus. We had our first staff meeting today. It lasted 1 hr 40 minutes, and since I'm trying to find the silver lining in things more often this year, I'm thankful for this as staff meetings in 2010 were at least 2-3 hours. (Long internal meetings are the death of me, from my production management perspective.) Forget all the budgetary numbers and new business on deck, it was this that my boss said which really resonated: Dress as professionally as you would like to be considered.
So, what does this outfit say about me? That I should be off riding a horse in the English countryside? :o)
Happy new {work} year to you all!

LOVE the vest-- it looks so great on you! I think it would also be really cute belted.
ReplyDeleteMaya, I *love* the idea of a belt. I never would have thought of that for this vest, but think I have a great black leather sash. Thanks for sharing!
