Green thumb envy

Day after day, for the past month or so, I've been watching this vegetable and herb garden grow slowly. I'm still not sure exactly who's responsible for the garden because it just cropped up one day on the school property across the street. I am almost 95% certain that it's not a school-related project, but I can't imagine who else in the neighborhood would have the BALLZ to just go and plop down some seeds on private property. Although, I think I did see a young boy watering the plants one day. Or is this one of those "community gardens" that is all the rage in big urban cities?

Anyhoo, it's almost like the baby garden turned into a lush beauty overnight. When I last checked it out two days ago, I could swear the purple and green cabbages were a bit smaller.  Today, when the storm had passed and made way for brilliant, dewy sunlight, I walked FurFur over that way. The cabbages line a single row – and call me crazy – looked almost like people, extraordinarily proud and robust today, wearing their curved leaves like flouncy, full Edwardian collars.

It must be all the rain we've had this season.

I'm thinking of trying my thumb at growing some herbs this weekend. Tips, anyone?
