Post-Russia

I’m still processing what I experienced over the past week and a half, but in the interim, what I’ll say is this: the term “trip of a lifetime” is surely over-used and over-dramatic, but in this particular instance, it happens to be the only term that fits as far as I am concerned.

We spent 10 days in Russia, splitting the time in Moscow and Saint Petersburg, experiencing a far-away world both uber-foreign and wildly fascinating, to say the least. It was an intriguing lesson in interpreting Cyrillic language, communicating with hand gestures (in Moscow), and delving into an incredibly cultural, old-meets-new-world lifestyle.

I will say more about it, in time, but for now, I must get back to work! For the first time in my life, I feel completely stress-free having returned from a big trip.

Me, outside St. Basil's Cathedral in the Red Square.
It's every bit as majestic, whimsical, and storybook-perfect as the pictures show.
