Jazzin' at the Shedd

It was a crummy day at work – by the end of it, my brain was totally fried but the project manager wanted to talk math and make me work out some more numbers in the budget but I had a huge deliverable due at 6:00 p.m. that my boss needed to take with her on a plane to Denver and then a ginormous micro-schedule to work up for a catalog project by 6:30. BUT.

Then I got a call from my girlfriend Katie, who invited me to help her use her Groupon this evening for Jazzin' at the Shedd (Aquarium). A perfectly idyllic way to end this crap day... sipping cocktails on the outdoor terrace, and reveling in live jazz while watching the sun set over Lake Michigan, giving way to a starry night bursting with the weekly fireworks from wayyy across the lake at Navy Pier... lovely!
