I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't get back to sleep. So, instead of catching my Zzzzzzz, I thunk up an OOTD. Yes, that's what I do when I'm bored, not tired, procrastinating, even while dreaming, sometimes. I must have had such a restless night that I woke up to a hot mess of Really Bad Bed Head, new bangs and all. You know, like hair out of the 80s. A blowdryer and product couldn't even tame it back down. Luckily, I wore a beret the first half of the morning, so that helped force my hair into submission and that's the only reason it looks quasi-decent in the pix below. Never thought I'd say this, but thank god for "hat hair"!
Lately I've been trying to "remix" what's already in my closet, and it seems that fall and winter are the perfect seasons for this because you can have to wear multiple layers to keep warm, making it the perfect opportunity to try different combinations. The entire OOTD is pretty much pieced together from different items found in Spain last year, except for the white lace top and silk scarf*. The oatmeal colored blouse and black leather sash are from Madrid, and the skinny black jeans are from quaint, little Arcos de la Frontera in the South of Spain. I feel so Euro. I tied the sash into a haphazard knot, which I quite like.
Outfit of the Day:
White lace top, Arden B. circa 1999
Oatmeal lace blouse, Sfera Spain
Silk scarf, Thailand
Black leather sash, Sfera Spain
Skinny jeans, boutique in Arcos de la Frontera, Spain
Black flats, gifted Cole Haan
*By the way, did you notice that the scarf is honeysuckle-esque? According to Pantone, the leading color authority who each year forecasts the most appealing colors, Honeysuckle Pink is the new hue for 2011. Guess I was light years ahead of this when I picked it up in Thailand in 2008!
