OOTD: Vintage Burberry + Russian fur
I've been patiently looking forward to the first real snow of the season, which has been just waiting, waiting to tip for the last week or so. Yesterday was a bit of a tease. Weatherman, you couldn't even justify calling those pathetic white pellets from last night "flurries".
But today. Today it began all-out flurrying on my way to work. It looks like someone shook a snow globe, delicate white flakes whirling about, then falling softly to the ground. The first snow is always a big deal to me. There's something so quiet and surreal about it. It's like the city stands still for a little bit, and all the usual noise fades away. Does it feel as magical for everyone else?
And, my Outfit of the Day on this special first snow, a vintage Burberry skirt and a Russian fur hat! For the second time in recent months my life, I was asked today, while standing in line at the post office, if I am "with the Consulate". The first time, The Fella and I were in a Moscow market and the matryoshka vendor asked us the same. I don't know what it is about me that remotely screams official delegate, but I'll take it as a compliment, I think?
