Saturday marked our neighbors' third annual Chrismukkah party, a fun tradition celebrating his and hers Hanukkah and Christmas. In honor of it, we thought it'd be funny and ironic for The Fella (Jewish) to show up in an Ugly Christmas Sweater and me (agnostic) in a dog collar slash Hanukkah head wreath. Pure irony. See how we just did that?
Okay, but I got a few too many weird looks, so I took it off after posing for that picture. This is what I look like without a Star of David head wreath. Better?
And amidst the thick of a furious blizzard, The Fella insisted on checking out the Shedd Aquarium. Sure, why not? (Didn't I tell you I'm working on my irony?) This probably would have been a better idea had it not been game day at nearby Soldier Field. After trekking to Museum Campus with a bus jam-packed with Bears fans, we finally made it to the tropical aquarium nearly two hours later. It felt good – if not a bit odd – to languish in the Caribbean Reef section, listening to steel drum holiday classics while watching all the colorful, exotic, wildly strange species flit on by, despite a massive snowstorm just outside.
And it continued to snow... and snow... and snow all day, all night...
You guys are the cutest-- looks like you had a fun weekend! P.S. Shawn's sweater is hilarious :)
