Ballet-inspired fashion

Give me a tutu and some sparkles and we'll call it a day!

That's what last night was filled with, pink tutu skirts and ballet-inspired cocktail dresses, gems and sparkles adorning every fluttery confection of a frock. I attended a holiday fashion event by the Joffrey Ballet Auxiliary Board at the BCBG Max Azria boutique on Damen (thanks for sending me the invitation, Maya!). Champagne was a-flowing, hors d'oeuvres passed by waiters in tuxes, Mister DJ spinning music, and women in glittery jackets. All this while a pretty snow was just beginning to fall behind the glass wall. Like a winter scene from a beautiful ballet. Let's just say it wasn't hard to convince me to play dress up and put on some pretty tutus from the 2010 collection. Has anyone seen my old ballet slippers?
